Start hating the Heat now folks.

Post  Salem Bleacher Creature on Wed May 25, 2011 4:52 pm

Remember 'the announcement'? Remember when Lebron said, "not 1, not 3, but 7 championships'. Well folks, I predict that they will not only win 7, but will be all in a row.

I don't see anybody beating them for a long time...name 1 team. Not that stupid unless another Lebron comes along.

I have to admit Lebron rubs me the wrong way like 98% of the other basketball fans in the country, but it was amazing to see him clamp down defensively on Rose in the last few minutes of the last 2 games. This was one of the biggest keys to the last 2 Heat victories. There were some possessions at the end of each game where Rose looked like he didn't feel like taking it to Lebron, but he was required to.

It's kind of scary to think of it from a Mavs perspective as to how they are going to deal with the 1-2 Dwade-Bron combo in the NBA finals.

Allow me to jump in on this. Bulls need a offensive mind on the bench to match their current defensive scheme. Add that to Howard coming to Chicago next year and baam! Chicago then has the best defensive team in the league by even more of an edge and the add a player that Miami cannot defend at the hoop. Miami is tough but they are beating a team in chicago that is severely limited offensively in the final minutes. Add Howard to that line up and the Bulls are the best team again. I also think it is hilarious that you guys are giving LeBron so much credit for stopping a player one on one when he is 4 inches taller and the team is in a 1-4 set. The scheme that they were in was the issue. The 1-4 set limits the one on one guy to a pull up jumper and with the size difference it was the perfect scenario. I hope Chicago is in that same scenario in Chicago and they do a better job of emptying the block to create a lane for Rose to create.

Add to that the impending drug situation taking the HGH away from LeBron and his moms impending relationship with a newly single Dwade.... anything can happen after all it is the NBA. lol

ChiKid

Ahh, yea.... 4 inches taller, 4 inches shorter or the same height Lebron is taking Rose out of the game in the last few minutes....ergo 2 Home Heat victories...... so, yes I will give Lebron credit for his defense on Rose.

Does anyone really care if Miami wins? The arrogance of those 3 individuals (hard to call them all players) is astounding. I find them more unpalatable than the Pistons when Lambier played.

Well, either way they will be fun to hate. I expect some great players at the end of their careers to rotate through this team over the years to get the ring. This team is gonna be real tough to de-throne. This year might be the best chance to beat them for a while, lets all just root for Dallas.

Rose lost it for them period!!

Post  basketballtime on Wed May 25, 2011 10:33 pm

Lebron did nothing it was rose's ego that took over and decided to play one on one basketball that never seems to work.Peirce does the same crap all the time along with many other idiots out there in the NBA. I have an idea for Rose pass the damn ball and get the defense moving to create a good shot. What kills me most about it is Rose did that twice!!! And by the way Chikid if you get a chance look at Dwades jawline from four years ago his whole skull has grown. I believe they call it Bonds syndrome.

Not mad at Rose

Post  chicagokid43 on Thu May 26, 2011 2:22 am

Really not mad at Rose and I think his ego is far more in check than either of the three of the heat. Rose dunks all over a a 6 foot 11 guy and calmly turns gives a couple hi fives to his team and goes to the foul line. Bosh<LeBron or Wade can make a layup and scream and yell like they just won the title. This team will be fun to hate no doubt they make it easy for the fans of players that show class and respect. The days of the David Robinsons and Joe Dumars are over. Now we are on to players that need to hot dog, showboat and try to humiliate their opponents. We are seeing this at lower levels every year from players standing over someone after a foul or a nice play to the screams and thats right MFer comments from morons like KG. I am close to turning the NBA off again because to me the basketball is not good enough to justify the stupidity you have to endure in the process.

I also remain confident that Rose was put in a situation where there was no movement off the ball and the two biggest help defenders were on the blocks. You cannot blame Rose for the bad shots you have to blame the coach for not giving him options.

Don't let your dislike of Queen James cloud the fact he is playing well in this series.... all hot dogging aside. I dislike him and his antics as much as the next basketball purist who grew up with Havlicek, Cowens, Jo Jo White, Bird etc around this 6 state area. I do know when to give credit though. As much as it pains me to say, the Queen is definitely playing well offensively and defensively and is starting to show why he is the "chosen one" either self granted or by others. I would go as far to say he is probably one of the 5 greatest athletes in the world right now.

As I like to say, "I am taking my medicine (painfully admitting LeBron is playing well and making a difference), swallowing hard and moving on."

EGO

Post  basketballtime on Thu May 26, 2011 9:15 am

His ego comes out in everytime he forces the situation and decides to take it upon himself to make the shot without getting the rest of the team involved. A true leader takes the lead and understands that he must get his whole team involved in order to win against the best of the best. You have seen it many times in the NBA Jordan had a really tough time until he learned he had to have a whole team concep to win it allt. You have even seen this issue with a few of the Olympic teams. By the way when you mentioned you were confident that Rose was put in that situation my question to you would be as the MVP and point guard and leader of his team did he have no decision making ability of his own? And for that matter making the same stupid mistake twice at the end of the game as everyone stood around watching? That does not win titles only an occasional highlight on ESPN's top ten plays of the week.

Easy Answer

Post  chicagokid43 on Thu May 26, 2011 6:00 pm

I think this is a scenario where the young player is still learning to lead while a new coach is still learning his offensive team. I remain defiant that it is his ego and more about the strategy that the coach drew up for him. Had the coach came out and had a designed set to get movement off of the ball while he tried to create I and he forced a shot I would be the first to call him out. However if you look at the play their is no movement off the ball at all. Add that to the size he was giving up going against a longer defender and the step back and pull up off the dribble was the only option.
